Initially, the YouTuber replaced a gasket on the bonnet that had loosened, which reduced the smell but did not eliminate it. They then put the vehicle on a ramp and discovered that the exhaust flexible was punctured. This fault occurs quite frequently on the 1.2 MultiJet, and it can be hard to notice because it doesn't make much noise, but the strong smell of exhaust fumes is a decisive clue.
