In a few simple steps, we will see how to disassemble and replace the gear shift knob and its boot on the Mazda 3. First, get into the car and start unscrewing the gear shift knob counterclockwise to remove it; then detach the gear shift boot and slide it upwards, replacing it if necessary, as shown in the video. Next, install the new gear shift knob, first securing the boot and then the knob on the lever; make sure it is perfectly straight and does not move from the manual gear shift lever.
