How do you replace the external handle of the Mercedes C-Class?

In order to replace the external handle of the Mercedes C-Class, you need to open the corresponding door so that you can remove the external seal at the handle: once the seal has been removed at this point, it will be possible to locate the screw underneath that fixes the lock cylinder to its housing. You will need to unscrew this screw from its seat in order to extract the lock cylinder and disconnect the underlying connector: after the old cylinder has been removed, you will be able to also remove the handle in order to insert the new one.
