In this video, we see the position and function of the auxiliary battery on a Mercedes G-Class. It is a small 12-volt battery that accompanies the main battery. Its main function is to support the start & stop system, in order to reliably restart the engine when the ECO system turns off the engine, and it also serves as a voltage stabilizer to protect the electronic modules that are more sensitive to voltage fluctuations. It is located in the engine compartment, on the right side, and is enclosed in a black plastic box, with a red positive terminal, easily distinguishable from the main battery, which is much larger.
