In this video, we can see how to deactivate the emergency braking on a Mercedes vehicle. The one in the video is a Class C, but the procedure is the same for all vehicles in the group. With the instrument panel on, from the multimedia screen, we click on "menu," then here on "settings," and from the button panel on the left, we select "collision avoidance." The "active brake assistance" function is highlighted, and we just need to deactivate it. It should be noted that this procedure must be repeated at each start if you wish to deactivate this function; this is because in the European Union, it is not allowed to permanently deactivate active safety systems.
