How to Replace the Timing Chain on a Mercedes A-Class?

To replace the timing chain on a Mercedes A-Class, you need to remove the engine from its compartment. Disconnect the various connectors and loosen the bolts that secure it to the frame supports. Once the engine is out, loosen the screws that hold the side plate, under which the timing chain is located. This chain must be removed by loosening its tension. You can do this by disassembling the corresponding tensioner; after removing the old chain, install the new one and reassemble all previously removed components.
