The procedure for replacing the timing chain on the Mercedes A-Class involves extracting the engine from its housing: to remove it, all connectors must be disconnected and the bolts securing it to the frame supports must be loosened. Once the engine has been extracted, the bolts securing the side panel must be loosened, under which the timing chain is located: the chain must be removed by loosening its tension. This can be done by disassembling the corresponding tensioner; then after removing the old chain, the new one can be inserted and everything can be reassembled.
