The use of advanced additives (so-called nanotechnology) during engine maintenance can certainly improve not only performance but also the engine's efficiency, while preserving its wear characteristics. A preliminary inspection before maintenance shows that, despite the low mileage, the engine has already begun to exhibit a slight loss of compression. Begin by adding an additive to the diesel fuel (the fuel filter replacement for this model is recommended around 31,000 mi and it is a relatively expensive filter) and one to the oil before draining, allowing it to circulate for about 15 minutes. Then proceed with the oil and filter replacement, adding another additive. Subsequent measurements of the same parameters already show an improvement.
