Fuel Pump Replacement Instructions

If the engine fails to start, it is often due to a malfunction of the fuel pump, specifically the low-pressure pump located in the fuel tank. The pump is situated beneath the rear seat and consists of two components, one of which also houses a filter. To replace it, remove the rear seat and the underlying sound-absorbing cover. Then, remove the protective caps, disconnect the connectors and hoses, and unscrew the plastic rings that secure the two buckets to the tank so you can extract them.
