How to use the electronic gear shift on a Mini Cooper

Model: Mini Mini Countryman2, F60 - Years 2017-2023

In the Mini R60, the gear knob has 4 main positions: P, R, N, D and a S/M side mode. P (Park): This is the button shaped like a "P" found at the top or side of the knob. Press it to put the car in neutral and lock the gearbox (only when the car is stationary!). R (Reverse): Pull the knob back (towards the rear seat) with the brake pressed. N (Neutral): Push the knob forward (towards the dashboard) once. Finally, D (Drive): Push the knob forward again for the car to start automatically. For manual/sport mode (M/S): Push the knob to the left from position D to enter Sport/Manual mode. From there, you can change gears manually using the paddles on the steering wheel.
