Removing the Airbag from a Mini Cooper S

Want to remove the airbag or steering wheel from the Mini Cooper? Here’s how to unlock the airbag from above the car's steering wheel. Insert the screwdriver into the side of the steering wheel cover (back of the steering wheel). Press the screwdriver into the hole until the airbag is released from the steering wheel. Once the airbag is detached (driver's side), disconnect the power connectors and remove it from the steering wheel. For reassembly, simply secure the airbag back onto the steering wheel and press until fully locked. Disconnect and reconnect all operating electrical connectors before fitting the airbag.
