How do you replace the gear knob on the Mini R55?

In order to replace the gear knob of the Mini R55 you have to grab the plastic support located at the base of the leather cover and inserted in the appropriate housing. Once the retaining clips have been released, it will be possible to lift the leather boot and detach the knob connected to it from the gear lever. When the old piece has been removed, it will be possible to insert a new gearshift gaiter by fitting the knob on the lever and inserting the clips of the leather cover in its housing. After the replacement it will be necessary to check that everything is working correctly.

How to replace the gear knob on an Opel Astra? Follow these steps: use a plastic lever to disconnect the leather gaiter frame (if you need to replace it). Grip the knob with both hands and pull it upwards (with a strong and decisive motion) until it comes off the gear stick. For installation: fit the new gaiter and position it on the centre tunnel, take the new knob and push it onto the stick, tightening it until fully threaded. Test the movement of the stick on the centre tunnel to ensure the knob is correctly fitted.
