How do you replace the gear knob on a Mini? Follow this video to see how to disassemble it: Grip the knob with both hands and rotate it left and right until it comes off the gear lever. Use a plastic lever to detach the leather gaiter frame (if you need to replace it). For reassembly: Take the new knob and slide it onto the lever on the centre tunnel, tightening it on the lever (push until it locks completely). Finally, test the movement of the lever on the centre tunnel to ensure the knob is correctly fitted.
