How to Remove the Roof from a Mini R52

Model: Mini Mini R53, R52, R50 - Years 2001-2007

To change the roof of the Mini R52, first remove the old one by taking off the central nut and disengaging the clips. From the boot, unscrew the pump screw to lift the roof. Then tighten the nut to prevent movement. Carefully remove the fabric from its housing, detaching it from the front straps, and then unscrew the two 8mm screws in the middle section; pull down the seal by removing the screws that hold it in place. Move to the lower part; there is a central clip, then side screws that secure the fabric near the end-stop sensors. Finally, disengage the rear section. To do this, remove the parcel shelf and unscrew all the screws that secure the roof from the external trim. Also, remove the third brake light. Repeat the operation from the inside. As you remove the old one, try to understand how it is attached to reinstall the new one. If necessary, take photos. The most challenging part is the rear, where it folds. There are numerous clips, pins, and electrical connectors.
