Replacing the air and cabin filter on a Mitsubishi Space Star

The video shows the replacement of the cabin filter and engine air filter on a Mitsubishi Space Star. For the cabin filter: open the glove compartment, empty it, and press the two side tabs to detach and lower it. Below is the filter cover: release it, pull out the old filter, and insert the new one, closing the cover until it clicks.

No tools are needed; for the engine air filter: open the bonnet.

Disconnect the hose with a 10 mm spanner and disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor. Unclip the two side clips and remove the cover.

Inside is very dirty. Unscrew the two 10 mm bolts (one at the front, one at the back; a short extension is needed) and remove the entire filter housing.

Clean the inside with pressurised water, including the side resonance chamber. Reattach the bolts, insert the new filter, pressing it firmly into place.

Replace the cover, secure it with the clips, and reconnect the hose. Caution: the hose must be well sealed, as air is measured from that point and must remain sealed until it reaches the cylinders.
