Before you begin, position your Moto Guzzi Breva 750 upright. Start by unscrewing and removing the screws that secure the oil sump cover, then remove the cover itself. Next, unscrew and remove the two oil drain bolts. This will allow all the used oil to drain out. Once done, re-tighten the two drain bolts, then reattach the oil sump cover. At this point, unscrew and remove the fill bolt, and insert 1.8 litres of 10w60 engine oil into the engine. After completing this last step, re-tighten the fill bolt, and you will have finished the replacement.

Float Replacement on Piaggio X9

To replace the float on the Piaggio X9 250, you need to disassemble it completely. Start by removing the two bolts from the underseat compartment and disconnect the rear light connector. Inside, there are two more screws to remove, two side bolts, and two at the bottom of the bodywork. On the lower plastic where the exhaust is, there is another bolt to remove and another underneath. That piece slides back and can be removed by pulling it hard. Then, there are three large support bolts for the footrest and three smaller ones. Remove the three bolts from the carburettor airbox and disconnect it, including all the carburettor fuel hoses. Next, remove the bolt near the glove compartment to take off the handle. There will be two more small bolts. At this point, by removing the bolt under the headlight, you can also take off the left fairing. Finish by removing the three Allen screws on top. Disconnect the bulbs by removing the headlight cover. Slide the seat back by disconnecting the connector. Remove the three bolts from the cover. Remove the four screws holding the fuel cap (you must also remove the cap gasket, otherwise it won't come off). Remove the two bolts holding the rest of the footrest (as previously mentioned). This exposes the part you are interested in. Also, open the top by removing the underseat cover plastic. Loosen the throttle and deceleration cable. Remove the bolt securing the diaphragm, loosen the clamps on the manifolds, and disconnect the fuel and air hoses. Now the carburettor can be removed. All that remains is to unscrew the four bolts of the float and change the float chamber, which must not have any play but stay firmly in place. Now, all that is left is to reassemble everything in reverse order of disassembly!
