In order to replace the gear knob of the Nissan Primera, you need to pry it off with an object like a screwdriver, so that you can detach the plastic cover on the central tunnel. Once this is detached, you can also lift the leather boot that wraps around the gear lever at the bottom. Then you will need to widen the ring under the knob to completely remove it. Once the knob is freed, you can insert the new one, repositioning the leather boot and the cover of the central tunnel.
