In this video, we see how to diagnose a fault that appears as a generic fault on the instrument panel of our Nissan Qashqai. We will need an OBD11 reader, which can also be found for a few tens of euros on any e-commerce platform. We will connect it to the EOBD socket and, through a decoding program that we can find for free on the app store of our smartphone, we will be able to understand what the problem is: in this case, it was the exhaust pressure circuit. We will need to remove the cover of the engine block. And underneath, we will find the pressure sensor. It can be detached, and if we take a look at the blue device, we will find some clips that may be worn out. In the video, we can see the YouTuber removing it and showing us that there is a lot of soot inside. We can clean it, but the best thing is to replace it; then with a bicycle brake cable, we clean the inside of the tube (but there are many bends inside, and it's not easy, it only works well for the first 10 centimeters), so the best solution here is also replacement. Even unscrewing the nut is difficult because it tends to round off through the hollow sockets. In the end, the YouTuber had to resign himself to taking the car to the workshop: of course, the fault was already diagnosed, but without the right equipment, that was really a too complicated job: doing it poorly would have caused a number of problems that would have cost three times as much to solve.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
