How to Remove the Steering Wheel and Airbag from an Opel Corsa D

Here is a guide to removing the steering wheel and airbag from an Opel Corsa D: First, disconnect the negative terminal from the vehicle's battery and wait at least 15 minutes to fully discharge the system's energy. To disconnect the airbag, locate the two holes on the back of the steering wheel; they are on the sides and may be covered by small rubber plugs. Insert a thin screwdriver into each hole until you feel a click, releasing the airbag's release spring. Repeat on the other side. Now the module is unlocked, and you can lift it from the steering wheel; disconnect the airbag connector and the horn connector. Place the module upside down. Now remove the central nut of the steering wheel with a Torx T50; mark the exact position of the steering wheel relative to the shaft with a marker. If it is stuck, use a puller, but absolutely avoid hitting it with a hammer! Also, be careful not to pull too hard to avoid damaging the spiral behind the steering wheel.
