How to Remove and Replace the Gaiter and Gear Knob on an Opel Corsa D

To perform this operation, ensure that the gearbox is in neutral and the handbrake is engaged. The knob is a plastic piece separate from the shaft, so gently insert the tip of a flat screwdriver into the narrow gap between the shaft and the knob body. Remove it and set it aside; underneath there may be a 13 mm nut securing the knob to the lever (if so, unscrew it), or just the threaded shaft of the gearbox, which should be pulled firmly upwards. Now that the knob and lever are removed, take off the gaiter, which is secured to the floor by a plastic or metal ring that clips onto the edge of the tunnel hole. Insert a flat screwdriver into the gap between the ring and the tunnel and push the plastic tabs inward to release the entire gaiter; at this point, simply pull it upwards.
