To disable the Start/Stop system on an Opel Astra, locate the ECO button on the central console, usually near the gear lever. After starting the engine, press the button to temporarily disable the automatic shut-off function during stops.

The deactivation is indicated by the light on the control turning off. To reactivate the system, simply press the ECO button again, ensuring that the corresponding light comes on. The change is not permanent: when the engine is turned off and then restarted, the Start/Stop system will return to being active.
