A common problem caused by the PCV valves on the Opel Astra K.

On the Opel Astra K, the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system can cause various problems if malfunctioning, as shown in the video, especially on the 1.4 turbo engines B14XFT and B14NFT. As the YouTuber demonstrates, a clogged valve can cause excessive pressure in the engine block, pushing oil out of the seals; if the PCV does not properly regulate the vapors, excess oil is drawn into the intake system and burned in the combustion chamber, generating bluish smoke from the exhaust. A stuck PCV can cause an imbalanced air-fuel mixture, leading to misfires; if stuck open, the engine may draw in too much unmeasured air, resulting in an incorrect reading from the MAF sensor and reducing turbo efficiency.
