This guide will show you how to disassemble and replace the camshaft on the Opel Astra G with a 1.6 8-valve engine, following these simple steps. First, open the bonnet and start by removing the cylinder head cover; to do this, unscrew the cover bolts using a socket spanner.

Next, remove the timing chain and unscrew the bolts of the rockers and valves to remove them; now proceed with the disassembly and removal of the camshaft. Then replace it with the new one, applying the reverse procedure!
