In this video tutorial, see how to replace the engine head gasket on an Opel Astra mk5, produced from 2004 to 2010. First, you must remove the entire engine from the vehicle. Once done, remove the cylinder head from the engine block by unscrewing the fixing bolts and lifting it carefully.

Then, remove the old gasket using a suitable tool or scraper, taking care not to damage the surface of the engine block. Now, clean the surface of the engine block thoroughly and position the new gasket, ensuring it is correctly placed and well adhered to the block.

Finally, refit the cylinder head and replace the bolts following the correct sequence and torque specifications before reinstalling the engine in the vehicle.
