This guide shows how to replace the head gasket on an Opel Astra H 1.4i. The first step is to remove the two Torx T20 bolts from the ignition coil pack and take off the piece. After removing the hydraulic hoses and connectors from the head, use an E10 socket to unscrew the thirteen bolts securing the head cover. Remove the old gasket and any remnants, then install the new one. Clean the edge of the head before refitting the cover. Tighten the bolts to 14 Nm. Reassemble everything and check for leaks before hitting the road.
