Before proceeding with the installation of the cylinder head, it is always advisable to check for any warping caused by overheating and to verify the flatness of the surface using a straight edge and a feeler gauge for valves; this check should also be repeated on the cylinder block.

Clean the threads of the cylinder head mounting holes with a tap, ensuring not to let any debris fall into the cylinders; then apply the locating dowels, the new gasket, and the cylinder head; use a new set of bolts for fastening, which should be done following a cross-tightening pattern using a torque wrench and a graduated wrench.
