Instructions for Removing the Centre Tunnel

Model: Vauxhall Astra Astra G - Years 1998-2006

To remove the centre tunnel, it may be beneficial to remove the seats to facilitate access to the side fixing screws, especially the rear ones; start by unscrewing the fixing screws located on the rear side, then move to the front ones; unclip the cover located just behind the gear lever, under the handbrake, and unscrew the screws underneath; then unclip the trim at the base of the gear lever gaiter and around the handbrake lever, and remove the ashtray from the bottom of the centre console; at this point, you can remove the centre tunnel trim.

If the central locking system of the Volkswagen Golf 4 is not working, it is likely necessary to reset the system: to do this, open the driver's door and detach the side panel of the dashboard next to the steering wheel.
