Replacing the Gear Shift Knob on Astra

Want to replace the knob on your Opel Astra? Let's see how to remove the covering plastics above the centre tunnel. Use a plastic lever to disconnect the cover above the centre tunnel (near the base of the gaiter), then unscrew the screws underneath it. Grip the knob with your hands and rotate it left and right until it comes off the gear stick. Fit the new leather gaiter with the clips (if it needs replacing), then take the new knob and push it onto the stick present on the centre tunnel: tighten the new knob until it is fully threaded onto the lever. Reattach the covering plastics on the centre tunnel.
