See how to change the gear knob on a Peugeot 206: lift the leather or plastic cover: grip it firmly and pull it upwards decisively; it will detach from the bottom edge of the knob, exposing the gear lever and the securing clip. Cut the clip that tightens the base of the gaiter and slide the cover off the knob. Now remove the knob, which is not screwed on but glued: twist it back and forth with force to break the glue's grip; once loosened, pull firmly and steadily upwards. Clean the shaft of any glue residue, align the new knob after applying glue, then slide the plastic gaiter over the knob and secure it with a clip. Reposition it at the base, and you're done.
