In this video we will describe the various steps to replace the gear knob of a Peugeot 206. Let's start by unhooking the gearshift gaiter by pushing the rear edge forward and lifting it paying attention to the hooks on the front edge. We raise the cap to be able to see the plastic clamp positioned at the base of the knob. Using a wire cutter, cut the clamp and remove it, now we are ready to extract the gear knob. We firmly grasp the knob and extract it upwards (for this operation we need to exert a little force), once the old knob has been extracted, let's remove it from the cap. We insert the new knob making sure to prepare the screen printing of the gears in the correct direction, we also check that we have aligned the seam of the knob with that of the cap. We apply a plastic clamp to the base of the new knob to fix it to the cap. We check that the white plastic part on the gear lever is intact and reinsert the knob with firm strokes. We finish by hanging up the headset.
