Learn how to repair the gas strut of the parcel shelf on a Peugeot 206. First, place a spacer to support the parcel shelf. Using an Allen key, turn three-quarters of a turn to the right of the boot to relieve pressure. In the central mechanism, there is a small spring clip that you need to release, and push the piston back. Using a pair of pliers, remove the side spring and pull out the pin holding the mechanism. At this point, you can pull out the piston; note the number of tubes or take a photo to remember their arrangement. Unscrew the washers and pull out the tubes. You need to clamp the piston and pull it out with two screwdrivers. Replace it and then reassemble everything in reverse order.
