When the battery on a Peugeot 206 discharges and does not hold charge during subsequent attempts, it needs replacing. Open the bonnet and start by disconnecting the negative terminal.

Using an 8 mm spanner, unscrew and remove the positive terminal. Use a 10 mm socket to unscrew the mounting bracket at the base of the battery, allowing you to remove it from its place.

Install a new battery, clean the terminals with a suitable tool, use a brush to clean the inside of the terminals from any rust, reconnect them to the corresponding terminals, and tighten the mounting bracket.
