How do you replace the mirror cap of the rearview mirror of the Peugeot 508?

In order to replace the mirror cap of the Peugeot 508, you need to lever with an object so that the mirror glass can be removed from its housing: once this is detached, you will be able to locate the internal screws that secure the cap to its housing. These screws must be loosened and the support hooks removed: this way, the old cap can be removed from its seat and the new one can be inserted. It can now be fixed so that everything works properly.
