To replace the drive belt on a Piaggio Vespa 50 LX, loosen the bolts securing the side panels on the left side of the scooter, near the rear wheel. Once this panel is removed, you can access the underlying cover, which must be opened by unscrewing the bolts securing the cover. After the cover is removed, unscrew the bolts securing the variator and clutch centrally so that the belt can be removed. Then, insert a new belt, reassembling all previously removed components.
