How to Update R-Link1
Model: Renault Renault Various
Video tutorial
R-Link 1 is the multimedia system installed in many Renault models between 2012 and 2016, and its main characteristic is that it is outdated and slow, not natively supporting Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, which is why complicated methods are sought to update it. Forget about complicated systems with OBD cables and diagnostic programs. The simple and instant solution is a Bluetooth transmitter for the cigarette lighter costing £15-20, which connects to the cigarette lighter and the AUX input of your Renault. The phone connects to it via Bluetooth, and it sends audio to the car's stereo system. The advantages are that it costs very little, requires no complicated modifications, and solves the problem instantly by simply plugging the transmitter into the cigarette lighter and connecting the AUX cable to the appropriate input (usually in the compartment under the gear lever). Start the car, tune the radio to AUX, connect the phone to the transmitter via Bluetooth, and you’re done.
