Video tutorial
See how to remove the alternator from a Renault Clio II 1.6 with engine code K4M. In the video, to gain more space, the front bumper was removed. Although not strictly necessary, it greatly facilitates access. Start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal. The alternator is secured with three 13 mm bolts and two electrical connections: one connector and one positive cable secured with a 13 mm nut. Once these fixings are removed, the alternator is free and can be taken out, passing it through the space in front of the engine (that is, the space left free by the removed bumper). If the alternator remains stuck, the video suggests loosening the two upper engine support bolts to create the necessary space for the component to pass through.
