This video shows how an oil leak has severely damaged the engine of this Renault Clio II, completely staining the engine block and all nearby components. The oil filler cap is also completely stained and sticky.

The problem was caused by the incorrect re-insertion of the dipstick into its housing. The dipstick has a stop that must fit perfectly with the metal part, effectively acting as a sort of cap. The stop can also be checked by matching the grooves of the yellow rubber with a metal stop, which must correspond exactly.

Once the problem was identified, the engine was cleaned of the dirt caused by the oil spillage and the oil level was restored, allowing the vehicle to start again.
