How to Repair a Faulty Light Switch on a Skoda Roomster

On this Skoda Roomster, the dipped beam switch does not turn on, and the indicator light flashes abnormally. This is clearly a contact fault, so remove the switch, which is quite simple as it just requires turning and pulling it towards you. Here, we see a broken piece of plastic at the back.

Disconnect the electrical connector, as explained in detail by the YouTuber regarding the function of each connection. We will see how to repair it by opening it and removing the two rear screws; inside, there are contacts that we slightly lift to improve their function.

Open the circuit and disconnect the connector. The YouTuber explains in detail the circuit composition, depending on the position of the various diodes, and sprays WD-40 on the connectors that connect to both the sensor and the relay board, which are activated as needed.

To test the relays, we need to connect 12 volts to the two power pins, which are the ones whose tracks are smaller than the contact pins. The "tick" confirms operation.

Now, refit the two boards in the correct order, and once correctly positioned, we can also reinsert the printed circuit that controls the ignition, and then replace the switch part. To secure the screws, insert two washers.

Finally, reinsert the switch in its place and connect the light sensor. Everything is now in order.
