Let's see in this video how to turn off the service light on a Smart Forfour: the correct method varies depending on the year of production. For the W454 model, we need to insert the key and access the onboard menu by pressing the "ok" button and holding it for 3 to 5 seconds. A message like "reset?" should appear; we press "ok" again, and the message should disappear. For first-generation Smart Forfour models with the small monochrome screen, we need to press the "trip" button on the speedometer (the one for resetting the partial kilometers) while the car is off, and without releasing it, we turn on the ignition. We continue to hold it until the "service" message appears on the screen. Then we release and quickly press again. A confirmation of the reset will appear.
