How to remove the front shock absorber on a Smart Fortwo? The first step to follow: we lift the front hood and remove it. Using a special socket wrench, unscrew the shock absorber locking pins, lift the car onto a column bridge and remove the front wheel. Unscrew the locking pins of the shock absorber to the wheel hub with a socket wrench (remove the brake circuit tubes with a screwdriver). Unscrew the pins on the side, remove the shock absorber from its housing (remove the pins in the front compartment). Let's compare the old piece with the new one and get ready for assembly. We mount the new shock absorber on the car by working backwards.
