How to Replace the Oil Filter on a Smart Fortwo

How do you replace the engine oil filter on a Smart Fortwo? Open the car's tailgate and pull up the engine bay release lever. Lift the car on a jack and unscrew the bolt from the oil sump; drain the liquid into a container (you can suction the oil if you have the right tool). Using a socket, unscrew the large fastening bolt of the container cap where the oil filter is located. Remove the worn oil filter and install a new one. Finally, top up with new oil and close the bonnet.
