How to change the engine oil and filter in a Smart Fortwo

To replace the engine oil and filter in a Smart Fortwo, bring the engine to operating temperature and then turn it off. Open the rear bonnet and locate the filler cap and dipstick. The oil is extracted through the dipstick tube using a suitable extraction pump; once the old lubricant is removed, locate the oil filter and unscrew it with the appropriate tool. Lubricate the seal of the new filter with a small amount of clean oil and install it without forcing. Then, pour the new oil through the filler neck, adhering to the specifications and quantity required for the engine. Wait a few minutes and check the level with the dipstick, adding oil if necessary without exceeding the maximum limit. Start the engine for a few seconds, turn it off, and check the level again and for any leaks.
