To perform the oil and oil filter replacement on a Smart Fortwo vehicle, we need to open the trunk and remove the cover to access the components. We remove the cover of the oil pan and open the oil drain valve to allow the oil to flow out more easily.

Using a torque wrench, we remove the drain plug and let the oil flow into a container. At the same time, we remove the oil filter housing to insert the new one, making sure to lubricate the gasket first.

Once finished, we close the drain plug and reattach the oil pan cover. We position the trunk cover back in place, and after closing it, we open the front hood to pour the correct amount of engine oil into the reservoir.

It is important to check the oil level using the dipstick.
