How to Change the Engine Oil on a Smart DIY

When the flow has reduced, check the condition of the sealing washer and replace it if necessary, then close the drain plug following the manufacturer's specified torque. The oil filter replacement should be done carefully as more residual oil may come out when removing it. Install the new filter after ensuring that the old seal is not stuck in place; if the filter is a cartridge type, also replace the supplied O-rings, lubricating them with a thin layer of clean oil. After correctly tightening the filter, fill the engine through the filler neck with the correct specification oil, wait a few minutes, and check the level, adjusting as necessary without exceeding the maximum.

Finally, start the engine for a few seconds, turn it off, and inspect the area around the plug and filter to ensure there are no leaks. After a few minutes, recheck the level and top up if needed.
