How to Replace the Gear Knob on a Smart ForTwo

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007

Before you can start, sit in the driver's seat of your Smart ForTwo. To perform this operation safely, it is strongly recommended to switch off the engine, engage the handbrake, and put the gearbox in neutral. Begin by pulling upwards on the gear knob. This will disengage it from the gear lever. Once you have completed this step, you will have successfully removed the gear knob from your Smart ForTwo. To install the new gear knob, simply reverse these few steps, and you will have completed the replacement.
