How to Replace the Gear Knob on a Smart ForTwo

Before you can start, sit in the driver's seat of your Smart ForTwo. This procedure must be carried out with the engine off, the gearbox in neutral, and the handbrake applied. Begin by gripping the gear knob and pulling it upwards. This will free the gear knob. Once you have completed this step, you will have successfully disassembled it. To fit the new gear knob, simply follow these instructions in reverse, and the replacement will be correctly completed.
