How to Remove the Alternator from a Smart ForTwo

Model: Smart Smart 451 - Years 2007-2015

Before you begin, lift the rear side of your Smart ForTwo. Start by loosening and removing the bolts that secure the right rear wheel, then remove the wheel itself. Next, unscrew and remove the bolts that secure the alternator to its housing. This will free the alternator. At this point, disconnect the electrical connectors attached to the alternator. Once you have completed this step, you can extract the alternator from the engine bay, and you will have finished the removal.
