How to remove and refit the muffler of a Smart Roadster

Model: Smart Smart Roadster, 452 - Years 2003-2005
Part: Exhaust muffler

Disassemble the muffler on our Smart Roadster: first we have to remove the rear windows. Which are only held by 4 screws per side. Remove the grilles, the light units, the rear bumper. At this point we can access the muffler, and to remove it from its support there are only 4 screws and a rear plug. We clean the housing well and place the new piece that we will have purchased according to our needs (more or less sporty, but always with an approved silencer). At this point we can do the reverse operations. We reattach the plug, put the screws back on, we test the sound of the new muffler, after which we can reassemble the rear bumper, the light units, the grilles and the rear windows. The work is done.
