Unlike what you might think, removing and installing the rear window gas struts on the Smart 451 is not a complex task. In fact, you can carry it out quickly and easily on your own without needing a professional mechanic.

First, switch off the car and go to the rear. Fully lift the bonnet and loosen the two upper springs using a flat screwdriver.

Once done, remove the two gas struts and replace them with the new ones. Tighten the two springs correctly and close the bonnet to check the proper functioning.
