How to Replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on a Smart Fortwo?

To replace the coolant temperature sensor on a Smart Fortwo, open the front bonnet to access the components in the engine bay. You will need to remove the screws securing the air filter housing to completely take it out. Once removed, the coolant temperature sensor can be found on the right side of the housing and should be simply pulled out from its socket. This will allow you to insert the new sensor and refit the air filter housing.
